Blue Jade Room was founded by Alicia and Alicia — two friends who met in London, but grew up between Malaysia and Singapore.

Long before game nights and event tables, mahjong was part of everyday life.  Late evenings around the table. Tiles clicking long after dinner. Family gatherings. Chinese New Year. Aunties insisting everyone eat more before playing another round.

Mahjong was never just a game.  It was how people gathered, talked, laughed, and stayed together.

Blue Jade Room was born from that love of heritage, hospitality, and the art of gathering — and a desire to share it in a modern, welcoming way. Asian culture teaches us to host generously, to make space, and to care for people at the table. That spirit sits at the heart of everything we do.

This is about more than learning a game. It’s about sharing culture. Creating memories. And making space for people to come together again.
